TruNort has adopted a proactive approach to labeling for better search capabilities. The most common options are as follow: “Made in Canada” and “Product of Canada”. Although the site is for general purpose only, we aim to provide accurate information when possible. Please select the label that best suits the product or service submitted. Furthermore, we offer the option for custom selection if needed e.g. “Assembled in Canada”, “Designed in Canada”, Manufactured in Canada” etc.

If you are unsure of which label to use, the Competition Bureau of Canada offers guidelines that explain the conditions required for accurate claims.

Our aim is to provide accurate and functional information when available. However we also must admit our limited capabilities. Thus, we set up listing packages to give business/services the ability to submit their own information for optimal representation.

This allows our platform to showcase advertising information as well as accurate data when possible.

Furthermore, our future goal is to eventually add services such as “Promoted listings”, “Featured listing capabilities”, “Product reviews”, “Custom Ads”, etc.  But these services will be optional and won’t impact the basic FREE supporter package. However until the directory reaches a level where the options might be beneficial, it will be business as usual.  

We understand that the economic landscape has been deeply affected by the pandemic and business have had to adjust to changes at a rapid pace. Therefore, it is crucial to maintain a reflexive mindset and constantly search for new ways to improve. Most importantly, the understanding,  that we are all in this together. 

If you decide to list your business on our directory, we ask that you take into consideration we are at the startup phase and constantly evolving.

Creating an account gives businesses the ability to manage their listing details with first hand information. Thus, allowing TruNort to verify the listing by adding a check mark beside the listing name. Additionally, verified listings give visitors the ability to browse confidently knowing information has been added by company owners/representatives. Therefore assisting customers in making informed purchasing decisions. 

If you decide NOT to create a custom listing, but still want your business featured on our website, please fill out the SUGGEST LISTING form.

In order to claim a listing you must open an account with TruNort. This is done to safe guard the information presented on our website from being manipulated without proper representation. Please the select “Claim Listing” quick action button located under each listing cover, where you will be prompted to create an account (Don’t worry it is FREE) and follow further instructions.

Instead of relying on third-party Ad Networks, we have implemented our own framework for advertising. This allows us to transition from a systematic targeting approach to a refined communicative platform. Ads will be sold under our website as Ad spaces from a front end ad manager delivering metrics such as views, clicks.

The information obtained will not be sold or distributed to any service provided. It will remain part of our company and will only be utilized for the advertising of web spaces for their functionality and online marketing. Furthermore, these Ad-Spaces will be managed by businesses related to our platform and only approved if they meet the required specifications. Thus, the contents of the advertising banner will coincide with our subject matter, providing viewers, users, and business owners a pleasant viewing experience.
